Frenchie opens the closet door

Former “American Idol” and “The Voice” alum Frenchie Davis has emerged from the closet.

Davis, who was booted off the second season of “Idol” in 2003 because of her affiliation with an adult Web site, says she’s in a long-term relationship with another woman.

“I wasn’t out before the relationship, but I wasn’t in,” Davis, 33, told the St. Louis Post Dispatch. “I dated men and women, though lesbians weren’t feeling the bisexual thing.

“Now I’m in love with a woman I think I can be with forever.”

Davis, who’s performing this weekend at the Chicago Pride Fest, did not disclose her girlfriend’s name.

She also expressed her support for gay men.

“I love the gay boys,” she told the Post Dispatch. “They have that awesome, masculine energy, but there’s also something else going on as well.”

Davis, who starred on Broadway in “Rent” after getting booted off “Idol” — and appeared in an LA production of “Dreamgirls” — was a contestant last season on NBC’s “The Voice.”

She finished in fifth place on the singing-competition show, and joined the show’s summer tour.

Davis has also toured twice with Ruben Studdard, who won the second season of “American Idol.”
