Now’s the time to get serious about spiffing up your backyard oasis. Head to the New York Botanical Garden to check out all sorts of gardening-related goodies — plants, furniture, antique fountains, birdbaths and more. In addition to shopping, glean info from horticultural experts and get your green thumb dirty at one of the hands-on demos. SPRING SHOW NYC

Spring is a busy season for the design world, so why not dip your toe in at this fair, featuring 15 US and international galleries. Among the offerings: Tiffany Studio lamps, 18th- to 20th-century European paintings, mid-19th century American furniture and Modern pieces by the likes of George Nakashima. Tours of the fair, lectures and book signings will also take place. KIPS BAY DECORATOR SHOW HOUSE

Eighteen designers and architects — among them Christopher Peacock, Sara Story and Mariette Himes Gomez — will display their talents at this year’s show house, taking place in an 1899, Federal-style limestone townhouse on the Upper East Side. COLLECTIVE .1 DESIGN FAIR

This inaugural design fair, created by a collective of designers, curators and gallerists, and coinciding with Frieze New York, will present a diverse group of 25 exhibitors, including Mondo Cane, Maison Gerard, Todd Merrill and Lost City Arts. On view will be a mix of vintage and contemporary designs; there will also be panel discussions, book signings and tours of the fair (even for the little ones, ages 4 to 10).
