New Jersey goat spotted in West Village

A goat from New Jersey is quickly becoming one of New York’s most annoying bridge-and-tunnel visitors.

Cocoa the Goat— who was first seen hanging out in Midtown in March — has been spotted hitting the West Village bar scene on MacDougal Street.

The hard-partying farm animal has been riling up residents as it slows traffic and leads cops on merry chases.

“We wasted 45 minutes hunting it down and another hour chasing down the legality of what we can do with him. I was pulling my hair out,” said Capt. Raffaele Petti of the 6th Precinct at a community board meeting this week.

The animal is just an example of how wild the atmosphere on the tavern-packed street has become, said residents at the meeting who lodged complaints against Cocoa.

“It shows that anything goes. It’s the wild west,” said Brunilda Valentin, 55. “The residents don’t even exist anymore.”

Cocoa rose to fame in March, after she was photographed munching on some pizza at the Famous Famiglia pizzeria near Times Square.

She was then led around the city on leash by her owner Cyrus Fakroddin, of Summit, NJ, and quickly became a viral hit on the Internet.

Since then, she has been has become the city’s most high-profile caprine visitor. And like celebrities from, Moby to Courtney Love, has started hanging out in the Village.

Video obtained by the post shows Cocoa turning heads as she strolls along MacDougal Street. Cocoa is seen munching on garbage and drawing a huge crowd of gawkers.

Some Village denizens are happy to seen him.

Aram Sabet, owner of 49 Grove St bar and lounge, said he’s been seeing the goat showing up ever Friday and Saturday night for the past 4 weeks.

“[She] sits on command, comes on command,” he said. “I love that little thing. One night, it was wearing white pearls. It’s just so cute”
