City agrees to reopen club where Brown/Drake brawl occurred

The city has agreed to allow the reopening of W.i.P. — the trendy SoHo nightclub where Drake and Chris Brown did their glass-shattering sparring — but not until July 8, and club’s liquor license remains in question.

The club will reopen following a total 21-day closure under an agreement in principal reached at Manhattan Supreme Court this afternoon.

Club lawyers will return to court Tuesday in hope of hashing out an agreement with the State Liquor Authority, which has yanked their license due to allegation of bar brawls and drug activity.

Scores of W.i.P employees attended a brief court hearing in support of the reopening. Owner Barry Mullineaux said 300 employees are out of work and the club has lost “it’s safe to say 100s of thousands of dollars.”

The club has paid some $2 million in sales taxes in the four years it has been open, said bar spokeswoman Elizabeth Rosenthal Traub.
