2 Pa. men plead guilty to selling guns to undercover detectives

Two Pennsylvania men have pleaded guilty in Manhattan after selling 13 guns to undercover detectives.

Albert Striegel, 20, of Ambridge, will serve nine years prison under today’s plea to criminal sale of firearms.

Co-defendant Travis Matthews, 23, of Pittsburgh, will serve 16 years on his plea to criminal sale of firearms yesterday.

The two brought semi-automatic pistols and revolvers in from Western Pennsylvania, selling them to under covers in the Upper West Side, East Harlem and Washington Heights, prosecutors said.

Striegel will use the time in prison to get his GED and learn a trade, said his lawyer, Stuart Singer.

“The defendants brazenly brought more than a dozen illegal guns into this city from another state,” Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance, Jr., said in a statement crediting his office’s Violent Criminal Enterprises Unit and the NYPD.
