Obama ‘honesty’ at a low

WASHINGTON — The three scandals dogging the White House have convinced most Americans to doubt the “honesty” of President Obama’s administration, a new poll found.

A majority, 55 percent of voters, says the Internal Revenue Service targeting of conservative groups has made them question the “overall honesty and integrity” of the Obama administration, a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll revealed.

Even more — 58 percent — question the administration’s honesty in its handling of the terror attack on the US mission in Benghazi, Libya, which killed US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

Another 58 percent also question the honesty and integrity of the Justice Department in seizing e-mail and phone records of news reporters.

The president’s overall job-approval rating remained steady, with 48 percent approval and 47 percent disapproval.

Still, 50 percent of Americans — including half of independents — support Capitol Hill Republicans’ investigations of the Obama administration.
