Qns. pol plea deal

Embattled ex-state Sen. Shirley Huntley will plead guilty to federal fraud charges, sources said yesterday.

The 74-year-old Queens Democrat plans to admit that a nonprofit she controlled was a piggy bank for herself and her family, said a source.

Huntley decided to plead guilty to federal mail-fraud charges after negotiations with prosecutors, sources said.

The new federal case follows her indictment in Nassau Supreme Court last August on charges she falsified documents to hide the fact her niece and an aide siphoned $30,000 from a sham charity she created called “The Parent Network.”

It’s unclear what impact the new federal case will have on the state charges.

Voters tossed Huntley from office in a primary last September when City Councilman James Sanders bested her by 17 points.

On her way out the door, Huntley paused long enough to shower loyal staffers with big pay raises.

Nobody answered the door at her South Jamaica home last night.
