Love’s got a lot to do with it.

Soul diva Tina Turner has taken the first steps toward renouncing her US citizenship and becoming a citizen of Switzerland, where she’s lived since the 1990s with her boyfriend.

The Zurich suburb of Kusnacht has approved Swiss citizenship for the legendary singer, pending confirmation from other Swiss authorities, a spokeswoman for Turner said yesterday.

The Tennessee-born Turner had moved to Switzerland in 1995 to be with her German-born record-producer beau, Erwin Bach.

“I’m very happy in Switzerland, and I feel at home here,” the 73-year-old Turner was quoted as telling the Swiss daily newspaper Blick.

She wanted to “clarify her situation,” Turner’s spokeswoman told the Swiss newspaper Zuerichsee-Zeitung. “Tina Turner will therefore also give back her US citizenship.”

She enjoys the privacy she receives there and has no plans to live elsewhere, the spokeswoman said.

The eight-time Grammy winner retired from performing after her last tour, which ended 2009. Her hits with Ike Turner and as a solo artist include “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” “Private Dancer” and “River Deep — Mountain High.”
