Chandra slay’s latest mystery

WASHINGTON — A judge has been holding secret hearings in the case of the man convicted in the 2001 killing of Chandra Levy — the latest twist in a high-profile murder investigation involving revelations of the victim’s relationship with Calif. Rep. Gary Condit.

The meetings could signal problems for the prosecution in a case that seemed resolved with the 2010 conviction of Ingmar Guandique, who is serving a 60-year prison sentence in Levy’s death.

Authorities acknowledged they had no DNA evidence linking Guandique to the crime and build their case around a jailhouse informant who testified that Guandique said he had killed Levy.
