MTV has revealed the nominations for the first Video Music Awards to be held in Brooklyn, with Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis leading the pack with six nominations each.
Timberlake (“Mirrors”), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (“Thrift Shop”), Bruno Mars (“Locked Out of Heaven”), Robin Thicke (“Blurred Lines” featuring T.I. and Pharrell), and Taylor Swift’ (“I Knew You Were Trouble”) will all battle it out for the coveted Video of the Year trophy.
Bruno Mars received four nominations while P!nk, Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus and Thirty Seconds to Mars received three each.
The VMAs will be held at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center August 25th from 9pm.
