One dead after fire rips through Queens apartment

A woman was killed in an early morning blaze when flames swept through her Jamaica apartment, the FDNY said.

The fire broke out just before 6 a.m. on the second floor of the 102nd Avenue home, killing an elderly woman who has not yet been identified.

Firefighters entered the second floor as the flames raged by breaking the windows to the woman’s room.

When the fire was extinguished about 30 minutes later, firefighters found the woman’s badly burned body, sources said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.
