A fossil crustacean, whose scientific name, Colymbosathon ecplecticos, means “swimmer with a large penis,” is the earliest clear example of a male animal, British researchers report.

The 425-million-year-old ancestor of modern water fleas, found in volcanic ash in Britain, is unusually well-preserved, allowing scientists to see it had gills, an advanced circulatory system – and a penis.

In a stunt that would make Evel Knievel proud, an Austrian man will attempt to fly 580 miles across the Mediterranean on a “flying bicycle.”
