NBA: Paul sparks Clippers past Pacers

Chris Paul had 29 points to help the Clippers hold off the Pacers 99-91. The Clippers (42-18) have won seven of their past eight. The Pacers played without Roy Hibbert, who was suspended for his role in Tuesday’s brawl with the Warriors.

Joakim Noah had 23 points, 21 rebounds and a career-high 11 blocks in the Bulls’ 93-82 win over the 76ers. … Kobe Bryant scored 33 points n the Lakers’ 116-94 win over the Timberwolves.

Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson said two investors — Mark Mastov, founder of 24 Hour Fitness, and Penguins co-owner Ron Burkle — want to buy the NBA’s Kings and build a downtown arena to stop the proposed move to Seattle.

ETC.: Chavez Jr. fined, suspended

The Nevada State Athletic Commission fined and suspended Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. over a failed drug test last year before fight in Las Vegas. Chavez (46-1-1) was suspended for nine months from the date of the fight and fined $900,000, which amounts to 30 percent of his $3 million purse for the bout against Sergio Martinez.

The Dallas Cowboys reworked the contracts of five starters, including DeMarcus Ware, Jason Witten and Miles Austin, to save about $20 million in salary-cap space.
