Spectators salute star-spangled pants during pledge

I pledge allegiance to the . . . pants?

When spectators at a Maryland wrestling match couldn’t find a flag to salute, they turned to the next best thing — a pair of star-spangled sweat pants. The crowd turned to a patriotic spectator, their hands on their hearts for the national anthem.

“There wasn’t a flag at all,” said Jamari Woods, 15, who snapped a photo of the scene. “It was all just mats in the middle of the gym.”

The Feb. 21 photo taken by Woods, a sophomore at Gwynn Park HS in Brandywine, Md., has since become an Internet sensation. “My friends are all saying how famous I am now, ” he told The Post.

Woods said it’s been re-tweeted about 12,000 times, but one mystery remains. He still doesn’t know the name of the man in the red, white and blue sweats.
