MARBURY CUZ SUES COPS

The trouble-prone brother of Minnesota Timeberwolves point guard Sebastian Telfair and cousin of Knick star Stephon Marbury has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the city, the NYPD and the Correction Department over a May 2005 arrest that he claims was a personal foul.

A Brooklyn jury took just six hours to find Sylvester Telfair not guilty of gun possession and resisting arrest following a June 2006 trial.

He charges in court papers filed this week in Brooklyn Supreme Court that the cops had no probable cause to arrest him on West Third Street near the Gravesend Houses.

“The plaintiff was wrongfully and/or recklessly dragged around like a common criminal and handcuffed without cause or reason,” the papers allege.

According to the suit, the cops shoved, slapped and punched Telfair and taunted him, “Your brother can’t help you now.”
