Donald Trump fights Attorney General Eric Schneiderman over school fraud claims

Donald Trump and state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman have gone to war — and neither side is taking prisoners.

Trump launched a Web site attacking Schneiderman’s “gross incompetence” after the AG filed a $40 million suit accusing The Donald and his school — Trump University — of defrauding up to 5,000 students.

“No matter how rich or popular you are, no one has the right to scam hardworking New Yorkers,” Schneiderman said.

Trump countered on the new site, 98percentapproval.com, that 98 percent of Trump U. students rated their business courses and seminars “excellent.”

“Only 4 percent of New York . . . voters rated Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s performance as ‘excellent,’ ’’ the site says.

But a source close to the AG said that some of the students providing testimonials had actually filed complaints against the school.

The Web site charges the AG let “the fat cats of Wall Street slip away” during the mortgage meltdown but wasted resources on probing Trump, who noted neither the school nor its students gets government aid.

Schneiderman claimed the school operated without a license for five years and illegally called itself a “university.” It is now called Trump Entrepreneur Institute.

The Post reported Saturday that Schneiderman’s campaign operation hit up Trump and his associates for campaign contributions during the two-year probe.
