SOCCER: Red Bulls lose on penalty kick

Rookie Adam Jahn scored his first professional goal and then set up Chris Wondolowski’s game-winning penalty in second-half injury time that gave the Earthquakes a 2-1 come-from-behind win over the Red Bulls last night in San Jose.

Wondolowski scored in the 92nd minute with his second try at the penalty kick, which initially came about when Jahn headed a corner kick into the left arm of Red Bulls defender Roy Miller. Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles saved the first attempt by Wondolowski, but referee Ricardo Salazar awarded San Jose another chance after Miller entered the penalty area too soon. Eric Alexander scored for the Red Bulls New in the 17th minute. Jahn tied it in the 83rd minute.
