Casual Fridays are nice, but one Florida health-care company takes it up a notch and treats its employees to a free brewski on “Beer Cart Fridays.”

Advance Medical allows staffers to have one beer — on company time — to reward them for working hard. It also springs for a birthday “get out of jail free’’ card that can be traded in for a day off with pay.

Mother Nature has sculpted a new island floating in Lake Michigan — made of ice.

“It was just a bunch of blocks piled on top of each other, and they were welded together with the wind and snow,” Josh Baker told WPBN-TV of the 15-foot-tall ice island that formed outside the town of Good Hart. It probably took six to eight weeks to form.

Here’s a world record that organizers of a comedy festival say they broke by more than a whisker — for the most people wearing fake mustaches.

Those running the annual Gilda’s LaughFest in Grand Rapids, Mich., say 1,544 attendees sported an array of ’staches on Thursday. They’re waiting for Guinness World Record officials to weigh in. The old record is 648.

A Polish man went under the knife for three hours to remove a screwdriver that had pierced his forehead.

The man, 25, apparently lost consciousness after falling. When he awoke, he wasn’t sure what had happened, so he went to his car, looked in the mirror and saw the screwdriver impaled just over his right eye. He had a cigarette, then called a neighbor to get him to the hospital.

Dracula would love this show-and-tell, but a kindergarten teacher in Norway got fired for it.

She brought in a sample of her own blood, poured it on a plate and let the kids touch. When they asked her how to remove it, “she put her finger in her mouth and the children followed suit,’’ another teacher said.
