Eau de Toast perfume hits London Fashion Week

Size zero models are more readily associated with carrot sticks and lettuce leaves than freshly buttered toast, but for how long?
The Federation Of Bakers has come up with Eau de Toast, a perfume designed to fight back against the bread-free diets many woman undertake to lose weight.
Models at this week’s London Fashion Week have been invited to sashay down the catwalk wearing the scent, which has yeasty top notes and a hint of caramel and malt, and was created by The Aroma Company.
“The limited edition scent was created by The Federation of Bakers to challenge the fashion for bread-free diets. With just 80 calories per slice, bread provides at least 10 per cent of the adult daily intake of protein, fibre, calcium, iron, copper, zinc and manganese. What’s more, the Government’s Nutrition Survey shows that people who eat the most bread, consume the fewest calories” the perfume’s website states.
A study last year published in the Journal of Psychology also found that the smell of fresh bread makes us kinder.

And while it remains to be seen whether any of the models took up the toasty offer, it has certainly created the media buzz the Federation were after.
