‘Election’ racists jailed

Four Staten Island ruffians were sentenced yesterday to prison terms of between four and nine years for a reign of terror directed at blacks on the night Americans elected their first black president.

Brian Carranza, 21, got six years and 10 months; Michael Contreras, 19, received four years and seven months; Bryan Garaventa, 18, will do five years; and Ralph Nicoletti, 19, nine years. All had pleaded guilty in Brooklyn federal court.

In the election-night ’08 rampage, the crew assaulted one man with a pipe and a baton and knocked another victim to the ground. They then got in a car and ran down Ronald Forte, who is white but whom the four believed was black.
