The porn identity

Brett Favre (AP)

Grid great Brett Favre could be thrown for a loss as the NFL goes to great lengths to determine if those are his private parts on sleazy cellphone photos.

League investigators are using cutting-edge technology to find electronic fingerprints on the pictures, which the former Jet quarterback allegedly texted to a sexy ex-sideline reporter for Gang Green.

Experts are examining at least one cellphone, a SIM card and phone records for digital details, ESPN reported yesterday, without disclosing the owner of the equipment.

The items were part of the “substantial material” that former Jet reporter Jenn Sterger turned over to the NFL when she had a three-hour sit-down with investigators on Nov. 12.

The forensics could trace the electronic pathway of the photos — including an alleged picture of a penis — sent to Sterger, ESPN said, citing anonymous sources.

Sterger, 26, was working as a freelance host and reporter for the Jets in 2008 when Favre, then the team’s quarterback, made a pass at her with sleazy voicemails and, allegedly, X-rated photos.

Favre, 41, acknowledged last month that he left Sterger voicemails while trying to woo the stunning ex-model in 2008.

He told Fox News that he admitted to the NFL’s vice president of security, Milt Ahlerich, that he’d left voicemails. But he insisted in that interview that he never sent Sterger photos of his personal equipment.

The married superstar’s fidelity fumble was first reported by Deadspin, a popular sports Web site.

Deadspin published some of the slimy missives after buying them from a third party, and noted that the racy images sent to Sterger had originated from the same number as the phone messages she got.

On one voicemail, Favre suggested that Sterger meet him at his hotel room.

“Just got done with practice, got meetings here for a couple more hours, then I’m going back to the hotel to just chill,” he said.

“So send me a text. So I’ll be in the building for a couple of hours . . . Send me a text. I’d love to see you tonight,” he urged.

Favre could face suspension if NFL investigators determine he lied about sending pornographic images to Sterger.

Sterger hasn’t commented publicly since the bombshell report that outed Favre’s freaky phone messages, but she has been cooperating with NFL investigators.

Favre, who suffered a humiliating defeat yesterday when his Minnesota Vikings were crushed, 31-3, by the Green Bay Packers — the team for which he played for 15 years — is one of the most celebrated quarterbacks in history. He’s played in 11 Pro Bowls, has been a six-time All-Pro and is the only quarterback to have led a team to victory over all 32 NFL franchises.
