‘Jersey Shore’ star Pauly D mobbed at University of Rhode Island: report

Campus police were called to assist “Jersey Shore” star Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio after a throng of hundreds of students threatened to mob the reality TV star at the University of Rhode Island (URI), TMZ reported Thursday.

Rhode Island native DelVecchio was on campus Wednesday night visiting a friend when students began pouring out of their dorms.

According to The Good Five-Cent Cigar, a URI student-run newspaper, between 300 and 400 students crowded outside Eddy Hall to wait for the reality TV star to exit.

“Pauly D, have my babies!” one female student yelled. Other students posed for photographs in front of DelVecchio’s white Mercedes S550, which is emblazoned with a “Pauly D” emblem.

At 10:15pm local time, DelVecchio was escorted from the dorm by his personal bodyguard, the newspaper reported. He was driven off campus in an SUV and the guard later returned to retrieve his vehicle. Campus police ordered students to clear the area as it was driven away.

According to TMZ, campus police told DelVecchio that he will not be allowed to return to URI unless he coordinates with law enforcement officials first.
