Fox seals finance with Dune

Fox Filmed Entertainment extended its longstanding co-financing agreement with Dune Capital Management.

Dune’s entertainment arm has funded Fox’s movies through multi-picture deals dating back to 2005.

The latest pact, completed in August 2007, would have expired this past July had it not been renewed, according to a source familiar with the deal.

This new arrangement will extend Fox’s partnership with the hedge fund for at least another couple of years, during which time Dune will finance roughly 35 percent of the production costs of all Fox films, according to another source close to the situation.

Dune’s previous deal with Fox, which, like The Post, is owned by News Corp., has been one of the most successful hedge fund-backed film financing deals arranged in recent years.

The previous pacts of sharing the costs and profits included box-office smashes like “Avatar,” “Live Free or Die Hard” and “The Devil Wears Prada.”
