A Jewish schoolteacher was viciously beaten by three thugs in Brooklyn, police said. Joseph Weinberger, 26, wearing Hasidic garb, was walking home on Wallabout Street in Williamsburg at 7:30 p.m. Thanksgiving when he was attacked.
Community activist Isaac Abraham believes it was a bias crime because when Weinberger was accosted, he offered to hand over his wallet — but instead of taking it, the thug punched him in the face, breaking his jaw.
Police are investigating whether it was, indeed, a hate crime.
