Yogi home after hospital

Yogi Berra was released from the hospital last night following an overnight stay and is resting at his home.

Berra, 85, had to go back to the hospital Saturday night, a day after he fell on the steps in front of his home, according to a source close to the Yankees great.

The bleeding would not stop from cuts on Berra’s nose, so he was re-admitted to the hospital, where doctors performed a procedure to stop the bleeding.

Berra spokesman Dave Kaplan said Berra is planning to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown next weekend.

Berra missed Old-Timers’ Day on Saturday after suffering the spill on Friday night. He went to the hospital Friday, but was released after X-rays showed no broken bones.

Berra was honored during the Old-Timer introductions. A video message was displayed during the third inning of the Yankees-Rays game saying, “We Miss You, Yogi.”
