NYU student attacked in SoHo

An NYU student was robbed and nearly raped in SoHo Tuesday.

The 20-year-old student was walking home after a late-night study session on Thompson St. between Prince and Spring Sts. around 1:15 a.m., when the creep approached her from behind, put her in a choke hold, and tried to rape her, police sources said.

The man dragged her between two cars but the brave student was able to fight off the would-be rapist by pushing him, police said.

The man fled with the woman’s bag and dipped into a vestibule where video footage released by cops shows him take off his coat and throw it over the stolen bag to conceal the property before fleeing.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for injuries to her face, cops said.
