President Obama to appear on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’

President Barack Obama is heading to “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” NBC announced Friday.

Obama will appear on a special episode of Fallon’s talk show, to be taped at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, next Tuesday.

White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer tweeted that the president will strike a serious tone and discuss “preventing interests rates from doubling on student loans” with the late night comedian.

But Fallon, 37, is expected to try and keep it light, inviting fans to contribute questions for the Commander-in-Chief on Twitter for the interview.

Obama will make his debut on Fallon’s show just days before another late-night comedian, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel, gears up to give the president a ribbing at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 28.

First Lady Michelle Obama previously appeared on Fallon’s show in February, to promote her “Let’s Move!” campaign against childhood obesity.
