‘Rape cop’ brute

A New York City cop charged with raping his pregnant stripper ex-girlfriend punched her in the face and menaced her with both a gun and a knife during the alleged attack, sources said yesterday.

The 23-year-old woman dated Officer Arthur Roldan, 28, for two years. After a recent breakup, the two had just begun to talk again.

She agreed to meet him late Tuesday night, and he parked his car by the Staten Island waterfront, at Father Capodanno Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue, a notorious lover’s lane.

It was there that she performed oral sex on him, sources said, but when she told him that she wanted to stop, he allegedly punched her in the face, pulled a folding knife and a handgun and forced her to have intercourse.

He threatened her with the gun to force her to have sex and with the knife to prevent her from stopping, the sources added.

Cops arrested Roldan, a six-year veteran assigned to the 78th Precinct in Park Slope, Brooklyn, the following day.

They seized a folding knife, a .32-caliber gun and his 9mm service weapon.

It was not known whether he also used the NYPD-issued gun in the attack.

In court yesterday, Judge Mario Mattei set Roldan’s bail at $20,000 cash on two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree menacing and one count of third-degree assault.

The judge also warned that if Roldan has any further contact with his ex, his bail will shoot up to $200,000.

“He maintains his innocence,” defense attorney Matthew Santamauro later told reporters.

“It’s too early to make any comments. I really don’t know any of the facts yet,”

Santamauro added that Roldan’s family was working on making bail, but relatives in court yesterday declined to comment.

Neighbor Linda Tobias, meanwhile, expressed shock upon hearing the charges.

“Police are supposed to protect us,” Tobias, 64, said. “I don’t want to believe it, but I’m not really surprised to find out he did this.

“It’s really scary.”

A police source familiar with Roldan’s work said he was “not a bad guy” and “does his job.”

Roldan is due back in court on Sept. 26, at which time he’ll face a grand jury.
