Dream ‘Bunch’

MUSICAL SQUARES: The remake of the 1970s hit sitcom “The Brady Bunch” hasn’t been cast, but here’s an idea of a sure-fire hit line-up. (

Here’s the story — of a man named (Bobby) Brady.

Actor Vince Vaughn has sold a rebooted version of kitschy ’70s series “The Brady Bunch” to CBS — with the focus on the youngest Brady male, Bobby.

In this newest version of “The Brady Bunch” — which has already spawned several spinoffs, movies and even a musical — Bobby will be a divorced dad with several kids who remarries a woman who’s also got a few kids. Together, they have their own child.

Oh, and they’re still in touch with their exes, ensuring that hilarity will ensue.

There’s no word, yet, on casting — Bobby was played by freckle-faced Mike Lookinland in the original ABC series, which aired from 1969-74 — but the new version will be written by Mike Mariano (“My Name is Earl”), who’ll executive-produce the project along with Vaughn and Lloyd Schwartz, the son of late “Brady Bunch” creator Sherwood Schwartz (who also created “Gilligan’s Island”), according to reports.

Peter Billingsley, better known as Ralphie from “A Christmas Story,” is also one of the executive producers.

The original series starred Robert Reed and Florence Henderson as Mike and Carol Brady, who each had three kids — sons for him (Greg, Peter, Bobby), daughters for her (Marcia, Jan, Cindy) — when they married and moved into their suburban LA house along with their wisecracking live-in housekeeper, Alice (Ann B. Davis).

The “Brady Bunch” reboot marks yet another case of networks revisiting past hits in trying to recapture some of that ’60s and ’70s TV magic.

CBS already airs an updated version of “Hawaii Five-O” — entering its third season — while NBC has a new version of “The Munsters” in the works, called “Mockingbird Lane,” with stars Portia de Rossi and Jerry O’Connell (as Lily and Herman).

Recent revivals of “Charlie’s Angels” and “The Bionic Woman,” however, failed to find an audience.
