SADIE SAYS: Former Naz guard Edwards pleased with July showing

Former Nazareth star Sadie Edwards has chronicled her travels with the brand new Epiphanny Prince Elite AAU team over the month of July exclusively on NYPost.com. One of the most highly recruited guards in the class of 2014, she showcased her skills across the country in search of a Division I scholarship. This is her final diary entree.

We (Epiphanny Prince Elite) finished off the second half of the month going 7-3. At USJN/Nike National Championships in Washington D.C. we went 3-2, and at the Garden City Classic in South Carolina we went 4-1.

Collectively, I think my teammates and I had a great summer. We competed against the top teams in the country, and faired very well. I am proud of my teammates, every game was a battle and we consistently came prepared. I loved being able to play with Katelynn Flaherty and Marina Mabrey. I’d go to war with them any day.

Off the court they are also two of the funniest kids I know, so just being around them made my summer that much better. I am only looking forward to being able to play with them again next summer.

Overall, I am pleased with my play this summer. I played well, and got the opportunity to play in front of hundreds of coaches, at great events. I know that what I take away from this summer will be critical to my development as a player. I learned a lot about what I need to work on in order to continue to get better, and I am eager to get back in the gym.

This is Edwards’ last diary entree..
