Jets won’t cover up Giants’ Super Bowl logos again

CORTLAND — There won’t be any curtain controversy Saturday night at MetLife Stadium.

The Jets, hosts for the game, will not cover the Giants’ Super Bowl logos that are outside their locker room with curtains for the preseason game between the teams. The Jets, who are hosting, normally cover the Giants’ logos for all of their home games.

The practice caused a stir before the two teams’ regular-season game last Christmas Eve. Several Giants pulled the curtains down as they walked to their locker room before a Jets official replaced them. Giants owner John Mara seemed annoyed after the game that the Jets had done it at all.

In the spirit of the “MetLife Bowl,” a team spokesman said the Jets will not have the curtains out. The Giants’ logo will be in one end zone and the Jets’ will be in the other.
