Romney rolls out ad against Obama Medicare cuts

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign is using Barack Obama’s words from 2008 against him in a new ad about Medicare.

Romney’s campaign on Sunday rolled out a television ad that quotes Obama in criticizing his 2008 rival for proposed cuts to the popular health plan for seniors. At the time, Obama said John McCain’s Medicare plan would cut $882 billion from the program.

Obama said the move “ain’t right.”

Romney has campaigned against Obama for his own cuts to Medicare to pay for Democrats’ health care law. Romney routinely reminds voters that Obama moved to cut $716 billion over a decade.

The ad then asks, “What would candidate Obama say about President Obama’s Medicare cuts?” The ad then plays Obama’s “it ain’t right” comments again.
