Starr Report

NYPD Blue: J.W. Cortes, one of the military operatives on NBC’s “Stars Earn Stripes” (he’s an Iraq War veteran) is now a New York cop. Yesterday, while he was on duty in midtown Manhattan, a perp, suspected in a robbery, was chased for three blocks by a good samaritan — who turned out to be Sgt. Tyler Dodd, a decorated Marine (a two-time Purple Heart recipient). Dodd, who held the perp until Cortes arrived on the scene, immediatey recognized one of New York’s Finest.

“He turns to me and says, ‘Hey, you’re the Marine from ‘Stars Earn Stripes!’ ” Cortes said.

“Revenge” star Emily VanCamp is featured in the latest issue of Hamptons magazine, just in time for the ABC drama’s second-season premiere (Sept. 30).

VanCamp bravely owns up to being a secret fan of ABC stablemate “The Bachelorette” — “It’s a great way to escape and relax with a glass of wine . . . You just get sucked in,” she says — but won’t go into much detail about her relationship with “Revenge” co-star Josh Bowman, who plays Daniel Grayson.

“We don’t really talk about our relationship,” she says. “The show becomes about your personal life if you talk about it too much.” However, she does mention that she’s a bit surprised at her show’s popularity among men. “They’re more hooked then their wives! It’s kind of hard not to look,” she says. “It’s like watching a train wreck.”
