Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection ($299.98)

This set of 15 classic Hitchcock films — including “The Birds,” “Rear Window” and “North By Northwest” — also introduces several titles being released on Blu-ray for the first time. True Hitch fans can’t wait to see a newly restored version of “Vertigo” that has only been glimpsed on the festival circuit. (Sept. 25)

Bond 50: The Complete 22-Film Collection ($299.99)

Everything from “Dr. No” to “Quantum of Solace” is here, along with 160 hours of extra features and a book of Bond franchise movie posters from the past 50 years. Notable additions to 007’s Blu-ray canon are “You Only Live Twice,” “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” and “Diamonds Are Forever.” (Sept. 25)

Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection ($159.98)

Eight of the most memorable movie monsters of all time are here, including “Frankenstein,” “Dracula,” “The Wolf Man,” “The Mummy” and “The Creature from the Black Lagoon.” Aficionados of vintage thrillers are excited that Universal has painstakingly restored each title, all of which were released between 1931 and 1954. Universal 100th Anniversary Collection ($349.98)

To celebrate 100 years in the movie biz, Universal reached back into its archives and restored or remastered dozens of its best-known films. This puts 25 of them — including “Scarface,” “To Kill A Mockingbird,” “Do The Right Thing,” “The Bourne Identity” and “The Sting” — in one place, along with a book about Universal’s history. (Nov. 6)
