I’m still a Clint fan, says ‘Chair’man Bam

Clint Eastwood didn’t make President Obama’s day at the Republican convention, but the commander in chief claims he’s still a “huge” fan of the Hollywood icon.

“He is a great actor and an even better director,” the president told USA Today in an interview published yesterday.

“I think the last few movies that he’s made have been terrific.”

The 82-year-old actor/director blasted the president last Thursday on the GOP convention stage in Tampa, delivering a rambling performance that included an “interview” with a chair (far left) meant to represent Obama.

Nevertheless, the president told the paper, “I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan.”

“One thing about being president or running for president: If you’re easily offended, you should probably choose another profession.”

Obama said there were no such stunts planned for this week’s Democratic National Convention.

“I think we’ll be playing this pretty straight,” the president said.
