Firefighters injured, residents displaced in overnight B’klyn fire

A 4-alarm fire broke out in Brooklyn early this morning injuring 22 people, authorities said.

Flames poured out of the windows of the Crown Heights building and it took firefighters nearly 2 hours to get the blaze under control, an FDNY spokesman said.

The fire started at 2:27 a.m. in a four story apartment building on Carroll Street near Kingston Avenue, an FDNY spokesman said.

In total 11 civilians had minor injuries and all refused medical attention, authorities said. Eleven firefighters also suffered minor injuries and were taken to Kings County Hospital, an FDNY spokesman said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. It was placed under control at 4:15 a.m., officials said.
