Man dead after jumping from George Washington Bridge

Cops fished the body of an unidentified man out of the Hudson River today about an hour after he plunged from the George Washington Bridge in an apparent suicide.

Port Authority Police noticed the jumper moments before he leaped from the span around 3:30 p.m. but were not able to get near enough to talk to him before he jumped, officials said

His body was found by the NYPD Harbor Unit floating about 300 yards south of the bridge.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification.
