An embattled Obama appointee is stepping down in the face of a salacious sexual-harassment lawsuit that has rocked the Department of Homeland Security.

Suzanne Barr, a longtime aide to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, filed a letter of resignation yesterday after allegations surfaced that she had propositioned at least three Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees, the agency said.

Barr went on leave last month after The Post revealed the filing of the sexual-discrimination and retaliation lawsuit by James T. Hayes Jr., ICE’s special agent in charge in New York.

But Barr still claims she has done nothing wrong, calling the allegations “unfounded,” and said they were “designed to destroy my reputation.”

“Of greater concern however, is the threat these allegations represent to the reputation of this agency and the men and women who proudly serve their country by advancing ICE’s mission,” Barr wrote. “As such, I feel it is incumbent upon me to take every step necessary to prevent further harm to the agency and to prevent this from further distracting from our critical work.”

The bombshell filing claimed Barr “humiliated” a male employee by calling him in his hotel room and screaming that she wanted his “c–k in the back of [her] throat.”

The lawsuit — which likened the agency to a “frat house” — also claimed that Barr “rewarded those male employees who would play along with her sexually charged games.”
