Nicole Richie’s new jewel-toned line for Macy’s Impulse department has a soundtrack.

“I would say The Doors, Janis Joplin, Rolling Stones and maybe throw in a little hip-hop in there,” she tells The Post of the tunes that sparked her hip-hippie mix of peacock-print dresses, studded faux-leather leggings, snug street-wear sweaters and bomber jackets. “All inspiration for me starts with music.”

Richie was feeling extra-inspired for her debut Macy’s designer capsule collection, which ranges from $49 to $149 and launches in 100 stores nationwide on Wednesday.

No stranger to the fashion world, the former reality star debuted her first collection, House of Harlow 1960, in 2008, a line that includes jewelry, women’s apparel and shoes. The next year, she teamed up with A Pea in the Pod to create a line of maternity wear called Nicole.

“I encourage women not to pay attention to trends,” says the mother-of-two, “but to dress for themselves and go with what looks good on their bodies and makes them feel good.”

On-Target

Sarah Easley and Beth Buccini, owners of the New York fashion boutique Kirna Zabête, featuring finds from a variety of designers, have teamed up with Target to launch a fall line. Beginning Sunday, shoppers can choose from more than 100 pieces of playful yet sleek pieces, with prices ranging from $9.99 to $199.99 — items that will go well with new fall trends.

Easley and Buccini designed the line to inspire women to make some style changes.

“We want them to mix prints, try leather for the day and pile on ‘too many’ accessories,” says Easley. “There is no bad combination.”
