Serena still dominating at U.S. Open

At this stage, Serena Williams looks like she could advance in the men’s draw.

Williams made it look easy in dispatching former No. 1 Ana Ivanovic 6-1, 6-3 in 58 minutes. She ripped 12 aces, winning 90 percent of her first services (26 of 29) and serving in the 115 mph range much of the short match.

She will meet the No. 10 seed, Italian Sara Errani,, in tomorrow’s semifinals as a giant favorite. Errani made the French Open finals, but the fourth-seeded Williams may eat her soft serve for lunch.

Williams said she cried in the locker room after her buddy Andy Roddick was sent into retirement, but had her spirits raised when she received a text from her friend, Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, that he was coming. “The guy is really hilarious,’’ she said.

Williams, who posted a double bagel against her last opponent, Andrea Hlavackova, said she’s getting better each match. “I’m moving faster,’’ she said. “I felt solid.’’
