As always, the BCBG Max Azria show started Fashion Week off right, with Azria’s feminine frocks getting a little makeover with the addition of tough accessories and separates. Inspired by Helmut Newton’s strong photography, the collection prominently featured black and white complementing colors, with talc, coral and even chambray and denim sprinkled throughout.
Crepe tops and dresses with lace details dominated the runway, topped off with leather body harnesses and ankle-cuff heels. A few industrial menswear items — like an overalls dress, black leather knee length shorts and denim pieces — were key to balancing the contrasting hard and soft styles, leaving the BCBG fan with a multitude of choices for her spring wardrobe.
