Giants Blitz

HERO

After a terrible first-half interception, Tony Romo played flawlessly the rest of the game, completing 22 of 29 passes overall, throwing for 309 yards and three touchdowns. He also hit Kevin Ogletree on a 15-yard game-clinching first down late in the fourth quarter. An impressive season-opening showing.

UNSUNG HERO

Two plays after the Giants cut the Dallas lead to 14-10, DeMarco Murray turned in a huge run, breaking tackles by Mathias Kiwanuka and Justin Tuck en route to a 48-yard jaunt. It led to a Dallas field goal, and Murray finished with 131 yards on 20 carries.

ZERO

The Giants’ offense delivered only 17 points — and that’s with a late TD in the fourth quarter — never getting into any kind of sustained rhythm. David Wilson’s first-quarter fumble hurt a potential scoring drive, Victor Cruz had three drops and Hakeem Nicks delivered only four catches for 38 yards.

KEY STAT

45 yards rushing, before Ahmad Bradshaw’s 33-yard draw late in the game with the team down 14 points, by the Giants on 17 carries. Last season the Giants ranked last in the NFL in rushing.
