Authorities say eight people have suffered minor injuries in a wrong-way accident on the southbound Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx.
CBS New York says a vehicle apparently was being pursued by police when it struck other vehicles.
The driver was taken into custody following the incident Thursday.
The Fire Department says two of those hurt are police officers and the rest are civilians.
