Flight 93 widow’s sad end

The widow of the pilot of United Flight 93, believed to have crashed in Pennsylvania on 9/11 as passengers and crew fought with four terrorists, died from a prescription drug-and-alcohol cocktail, according to Colorado’s state coroner.

Sandy Dahl, 52, who had a heart condition, numbed herself with anti-depression and anti-anxiety pills, painkillers and tranquilizers on May 25 in Lakewood, Colo., says the autopsy report, released Friday.

Over the last decade, she worked with the Families of Flight 93 on building a memorial and a charity in her husband Jason’s name. But last year, on 9/11’s 10th anniversary, she admitted having difficulty moving on.

Jason Dahl is credited with purposely crashing the Boeing 757-222 into a field near Shanksville, Pa., rather than let it fly on to Washington and slam into the White House or the Capitol.
