Central Park ‘rapist’ indicted

He’s indicted.

A Manhattan grand jury today voted an indictment in the shocking rape robbery case of David Albert Mitchell, the accused sex fiend arrested for allegedly attacking an elderly bird watcher near Strawberry Fields in Central Park, according to court officials.

Mitchell’s case was briefly called in Manhattan Criminal Court this morning prior to the grand jury vote; his court appointed lawyers agreed to an October 10 date for the indictment to be unsealed before Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers.

Mitchell was not brought out into the courtroom for the appearance; his lawyers made no comment to reporters.

In addition to the a rape and robbery indictment against Mitchell, the grand jury also indicted Mitchell on his August 20 alleged menacing of another man at Strawberry Fields, in which he is accused of threatening to fill the circular Imagine mosaic with the victim’s blood.
