Houston family reality show

Lifetime’s reality show tracking Whitney Houston’s surviving family members will premiere Oct. 24 — eight months after the pop superstar’s tragic death.

The Houstons: On Our Own” will follow, among others, Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina and Houston’s sister-in-law/manager, Pat Houston, “as they try and pick up the pieces after her untimely death,” according to the network’s description of the series.

Also featured will be Pat’s daughter, Rayah; Houston’s brother, Gary; Houston’s mother, legendary singer Cissy Houston; and a family friend named Nick Gordon.

Houston, 48, was found dead Feb. 11 in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel room, one day before the Grammy Awards.

Her death was later ruled an “accidental drowning” and was attributed to heart disease and cocaine use.

The 14-part series will cover the aftermath of Houston’s death, with special attention focused on 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina, Houston’s daughter with Bobby Brown and the sole heir to her late mother’s estate.

Lifetime will tease the series with a one-hour special, “Remembering Whitney,” airing Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. and featuring never-before-seen footage of the singer and interviews with Bobbi Kristina, Pat Houston, Gary Houston and Cissy Houston.

Houston’s final film appearance was in “Sparkle,” released last month.
