A fearless Queens resident went toe-to-toe with two home-invading thugs who cocked a loaded gun against his wife’s head — by wrestling away the weapon and leaving one suspect shot in the leg, cops said.

Ghulam Khanlodhy, 42, of South Richmond Hill, later displayed a battle scar from the 3 a.m. life-or-death struggle — a perfect set of teeth marks in his right bicep where one of the masked men gnawed into his flesh.

Khanlodhy’s wife, Zarinie, 52, said she was sure the men would have killed for the family’s gold jewelry if it hadn’t been for her husband’s ferocious counterattack.

“He saved my life,” she said. “If he was not home, I know I would be dead right now.”

Khanlodhy, a leather wholesaler, leapt into action after the masked, gloved intruders appeared right over the couple’s bed and demanded gold. One held a pistol to his wife’s head.

“The guy holding her down chambered a round, and I tell her . . . ‘Stop, they’re going to kill us, be quiet,’ but she kept screaming,” Khanlodhy said.

Despite his slight build, the brave homeowner seized the pistol as one assailant tried to pass it to his partner. “I grabbed it and pulled the trigger, but it just clicked,” he said.

One man then kicked out a window and ran for his life. The accomplice — later identified by cops as Larry Smith, 24 — tried to follow, but Khanlodhy grabbed him from behind and was bitten on the arm.

In the struggle, the gun went off twice, hitting Smith once in the upper leg.

Khanlodhy threw the gun from the window, and with his wife and stepson’s help, held the bleeding Smith in a headlock.

He then demanded that his 26-year-old stepson, who shares the home, get a knife from the kitchen.

“He says, ‘No, we don’t want to kill him,’” he said.

Five children who live upstairs — girls ages 3, 7, and 8, and two 11-year-old boys — were home but not threatened.

The wife, Zarinie, said Smith claimed he was put up to the robbery by someone in their family.

They believe they were targeted for their large collection of gold jewelry, including a thick chain Zarinie wears even to bed.

Smith was charged with robbery, burglary, gun possession and assault. He remained at Jamaica Hospital last night. The other perp fled in an SUV and was at large as of last night.
