A French secret agent under orders from then-President Nicolas Sarkozy infiltrated a Libyan mob and fatally shot Moammar Khadafy in the head last year, a London newspaper reports.
Mahmoud Jibril, interim prime minister for 7 1/2 months after Khadafy, backed the claim, The Daily Mail wrote yesterday. Jibril told Egyptian TV, “It was a foreign agent who mixed with the revolutionary brigades to kill Khadafy.”
Sarkozy has denied rumors that Khadafy donated millions of dollars to his 2007 campaign.
