Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has baby boy, becomes first-time mom

The newest Yahooligan has arrived.

CEO Marissa Mayer is a mom after giving birth last night, her husband, Zachary Bogue, posted on Twitter.

“Baby boy Bogue born last night. Mom (@marissamayer) and baby are doing great — we couldn’t be more excited!” Bogue tweeted this morning.

The couple didn’t announce the name or weight of the baby.

There is no doubt, however, that their small addition will have a big presence around Yahoo. Mayer has said she is taking a few weeks of “working” maternity leave and is expected to bring her son to work.

Mayer is managing Yahoo’s latest strategic overhaul since taking over for ousted Scott Thompson, who resigned amid a flap over his resume. Last week after she outlined her vision for reviving the company in broad strokes.

Mayer, lured from her high-profile gig at Google, has been busy installing her own team as well. She announced last week that CFO Tim Morse, who also served as interim CEO, will be replaced by Ken Goldman, the CFO of Fortinet.

Mayer and Goldman have money to play with now that Yahoo! finished the $7.6 billion a sale of its stake in China’s Alibaba Group. Mayer has said a portion of the proceeds will go to shareholders, but the rest could pay for acquisitions.

Yahoo shares were down 1 percent at $15.81 in the early afternoon trading.
