What went right?

It’s finally living up to its name.

Bronx Academy of Promise Charter School was among just three schools in the city to vault from an F grade in 2011 to an A grade on this year’s city report cards.

The Highbridge school saw its percentile rank catapult from second to 91st among all schools — an improvement principal Catherine Jackvony, who started in March 2011, attributed to changes in the curriculum and better teamwork.

“We’ve introduced new data systems and started looking at each student individually,” she said.

Parents said they can see the impact the K-to-6 school is having on their kids by the way they’re acting at home.

“He’s heading straight for the books at home. He loves to read after school now,” said Brenda Maldonado, whose son, Nathaniel, is in first grade.

José Montalvo, 34, said his two daughters think the world of their teachers — and have the grades to prove it.

In 2012, the school boosted the percentage of students who passed the state tests by more than 20 percentage points in reading and by 30 percentage points in math.
